Marine grade galvanized steel is a galvanized steel with good corrosion resistance in high salt and humid marine environments, the thickness of the zinc layer determines the corrosion resistance of the steel, generally used in coastal areas of galvanized steel with a zinc layer thickness of 80 microns to 125 microns or even thicker, the service life of the steel in the 8–30 years.
The zinc layer determines the service life of the galvanized steel, so choosing the right zinc thickness for each application will maximize the performance of the steel and reduce project costs. We recommend a zinc coating of around 65 microns for general outdoor construction, 80 microns for coastal areas, and 125 microns for special offshore projects.
