What Are the PPGI Material Types?

According to different production needs and application scenarios of customers, Wanzhi can provide customers with different types, specifications, and grades of PPGI materials. PPGI thickness: 0.12-1.5mm, width: 600-1250mm, grades meet ASTM, EN standards.

PPGI Coil: Continuous strip PPGI material, suitable for customers with processing equipment and factories, can be cut into various shapes according to needs.

PPGI Sheet: The sizes and shapes are cut in the factory after color coating, which is suitable for customers who are inconvenient to install directly and process on site.

What Substrates are Available for PPGI Materials?

PPGI’s substrates include GI/GL/SPCC/SPCD/SPCE/DC01-DC07/Q195, Q215, Q235. However, Cold Rolled Plate (CRP) is rarely used because of its high cost, lower production efficiency, and lower corrosion resistance than other types of substrates. The most popular substrates for color-coated steel are GI and GL. PPGI substrates are available in hot-dip galvanized and electro-galvanized.

Hot-dip galvanized: thick zinc coating, high corrosion protection, but not suitable for decorative applications.

Electro-galvanized: thin zinc coating, flat surface, suitable for applications with low corrosion protection.

What Coatings are Available for PPGI Materials?

Coating of PPGI materials can increase the corrosion resistance of steel, beautify the appearance of PPGI products, increase processability, service life and some other properties.

Coating of PPGI Types

First, in terms of performance, different types of coatings have different application scenarios, performance, cost, and service life.

PE: Suitable for general use such as indoors, easy to process and low cost, can last about 15 years.

HDP: Compared with PE, it has better corrosion resistance and weather resistance, suitable for outdoor use, and can last about 20 years.

SMP: Compared with PE coating, it has better durability and can last about 20 years.

PVDF: Advanced coating, known for its excellent weather resistance, chemical resistance, and corrosion resistance, suitable for outdoor environments with high decorative requirements, and can last about 25 years.
