What Is Aluzinc Flat Sheet?
Aluzinc steel sheet, also known as galvalume steel sheet, is steel sheet coated with an aluminum-zinc alloy through a continuous hot-dip process. The coating typically contains approximately 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon by weight. The aluminum-zinc coating combines the barrier protection of aluminum with the galvanic protection of zinc, providing good corrosion resistance, durability, and heat resistance.

- Steel substrate: Provides strength and formability. Common grades include DX51D, DX52D, DX53D, DX54D, S250GD, S280GD, S320GD, and S350GD.
- Aluminum-zinc coating: Protects the steel substrate and improves corrosion resistance and durability.
- Coating surface: Provides a metallic surface for further processing and fabrication.
- International standards: Common standards include EN 10346, ASTM A792/A792M, JIS G 3321, and GB/T 2518.

Galvalume Flat Sheet Manufacturing Process
- Steel Coil Preparation: Select cold-rolled steel coils according to the required grade and specifications.
- Cleaning and Surface Preparation: Clean the steel strip to remove oil, dirt, and surface oxides before coating.
- Hot-Dip Al-Zn Coating: Pass the prepared steel strip through a molten aluminum-zinc alloy bath to form the galvalume coating.
- Coating Control and Cooling: Control the coating weight, then cool the coated strip to stabilize the coating.
- Surface Treatment: Apply passivation or other surface treatments as required for surface protection and storage.
- Leveling and Cutting: Level the coated strip and cut it into flat sheets according to the required dimensions.
- Inspection and Packaging: Check dimensions, coating quality, and surface condition before packaging and shipment.
Advantages of GL Flat Sheet
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Galvalume provides strong corrosion protection through the combined effects of aluminum and zinc.
- Good Heat Resistance: The aluminum-rich coating offers good resistance to elevated temperatures.
- High Solar Reflectivity: The metallic surface reflects solar radiation and can help reduce heat absorption.
- Good Formability: Suitable steel grades can be cut, bent, stamped, and formed into different shapes.
- Uniform Metallic Appearance: The surface has a distinctive silvery metallic appearance.
- Long-Term Durability: The aluminum-zinc coating provides durable protection for the steel substrate under suitable conditions.
Aluzinc Flat Sheet Applications
- Construction: Roofing panels, wall cladding, building facades, ceilings, doors, and partitions.
- Appliance Manufacturing: Appliance panels, housings, and internal components.
- HVAC Systems: Ductwork and air-conditioning components.
- Industrial Equipment: Equipment panels, enclosures, and fabricated components.
- Agriculture: Greenhouse structures and agricultural equipment.
- Furniture and Lighting: Furniture components, lighting fixtures, and other fabricated products.
Galvalume Flat Sheet VS Galvanized Flat Sheet
| Item | Galvalume Flat Sheet | Galvanized Flat Sheet |

How to Choose the Right Aluzinc Flat Sheet
- Consider the Environment: Assess humidity, salt exposure, pollutants, and other corrosion factors at the project site.
- Select the Coating Weight: Higher AZ coating weights generally provide greater corrosion protection under comparable conditions.
- Choose the Steel Grade: Select the grade according to required strength, formability, and fabrication processes.
- Choose the Thickness: Select thickness based on structural strength, stiffness, forming requirements, and application needs. Thickness alone does not determine corrosion resistance.
- Consider Surface Treatment: Passivation, oiling, or other suitable treatments can help protect the surface during storage and handling.
- Match the Application: Choose the appropriate combination of coating weight, steel grade, and thickness for roofing, cladding, building, industrial, or other applications.
