Significant advantages of PPGI writing board
Compared with traditional writing pad materials, PPGI writing board are less costly, more bendable, more magnetic and easier to install. Therefore, PPGI PPGL has become the material of choice for many whiteboard/blackboard manufacturers.
- Smooth writing: Marker pen for smooth writing, easy to erase without residue.
- Smudge and fingerprint resistance: oily pen stains can be wiped off immediately.
- Color and decorative: the coating layer can achieve any color (black, white, green, etc.), support for wood grain, brushed metal and other realistic printing effects
- Magnetic adsorption: baseboard magnetic guide + back composite soft magnetic layer.

Limitations
PPGI as a writing board also has many shortcomings, such as PPGI writing boards are not suitable for ultra-high frequency of use environment, so when choosing can be combined with the budget and application scenarios to choose the most appropriate material.
- Upper limit of surface hardness: easily scratched by sharp objects.
- Insufficient high temperature resistance: polyester coating ≤120℃, epoxy coating ≤80℃.
- Fragile edge protection: the cut part is exposed to the substrate, and it is easy to rust from the edge under humid environment.
- Failure of coating adhesion: poor pretreatment can cause the whole sheet to peel off .
- Heavy hanging safety: 0.5mm plate load capacity ≤ 15kg (need to add backing skeleton), lower than aluminum alloy plate (load capacity 30kg+).
Attention
If you also choose PPGI coil as your writing board material, you can optimize the substrate, coating and edge protection in order to improve the service life of PPGI sheet.
- Substrate: Aluminum-zinc plated sheet (choose aluminum-zinc coating with better performance.)
- Primer: Epoxy resin + zinc phosphate pigment.
- Top coat: Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) or ceramic-polyurethane composite coating.
- Back coating: epoxy backing paint + anti-rust pigments
- Edge protection design: deburring and polishing, sealing thickness, sealing test.
For limited budgets and non-ultra-high intensity use, PPGI writing boards are the ideal choice for balanced performance; while heavy use environments such as education and industry still need to evaluate the full life cycle cost of choosing a more durable enameled or stainless steel solution.
