DX51D

DX51D +AZ100 Galvalume steel (DX51D) is a cold-rolled, coated steel grade specified in the European standard (EN 10346). It offers excellent formability for galvalume steel.

Code

“D” indicates cold-forming steel (drawing, deep-drawing grade);

“X” indicates the base steel is mild steel.

“51D” is designed specifically for cold forming (such as deep drawing and stretching) and offers excellent ductility and formability.

AZ100

The AZ100 aluminum-zinc coating in the DX51D +AZ100 provides exceptional corrosion resistance to steel. The thicker the coating, the better the corrosion resistance.

  • +AZ: Aluzinc, a galvanized steel with a composition of 55% aluminum (Al), 43.4% zinc (Zn), and 1.6% silicon (Si).
  • 100: Total coating weight on both sides is 100 grams per square meter (g/m²).

International Standard Galvalume “Galvalume AZ25” or “Galvalume 100” is a globally recognized commercial name.

DX51D + AZ100 Advantages and Applications

Features

Corrosion Resistance: The dense aluminum oxide film (Al₂O₃) and sacrificial zinc anodic protection provide dual protection, superior to galvanized steel in corrosion resistance, especially in marine, humid, and chemical environments.
Heat Resistance: The aluminum in galvanized steel has a high melting point (660°C) and is stable below 300°C. The oxide film is flame-retardant after formation, making it suitable for high-temperature environments.
Workability: The aluminum-zinc layer has strong adhesion to the cold-rolled substrate, resisting peeling or cracking during forming, making it suitable for processes such as stamping and bending.
Appearance: The surface has a metallic luster, with fine or no zinc spangles, and a slightly darker color than galvanized steel, resulting in a unique texture.
