The first batch of 27 tons of white painted galvalume steel coils arrived at the customer’s factory. After inspection, the Chilean customer approved our products. Currently, the second batch of blue PPGL coils is in production and will soon be completed, inspected, and shipped to Chile.

Order Details – Chile PPGL Coil
The customer is from a roofing sheet processing plant in Chile and plans to purchase white prepainted steel coils for roofing sheet processing. The customer has high requirements for corrosion resistance and weather resistance. Wanzhi Group recommended PPGI steel and PPGL steel to the customer. After comparing the prices and performance of PPGI and PPGL, the customer chose the higher quality PPGL coil as the roofing sheet material.

PPGL coil and PPGI Coil for Roofing
Property | PPGI Coil | PPGL Coil |
Coating Composition | Pure Zinc (Zn ≥99%) | Aluminum-Zinc Alloy (55%Al + 43.5%Zn + 1.5%Si) |
Corrosion Protection | Sacrificial Anode Protection (Zinc corrodes first) | Triple Protection:
1. Aluminum forms a dense oxide film to block corrosion
2. Zinc provides cathodic protection
3. Silicon enhances coating adhesion |
Coating Density | ≈7.1 g/cm³ | ≈3.75 g/cm³ (48% lighter) |
Service Life (60g/m²) | 500-800 hours | 1,200-1,500 hours |
Service Life (120g/m²) | 1,000-1,500 hours | 2,500-3,000 hours |
Long-Term Heat Resistance Limit | 149°C (low melting point of zinc) | 315°C (aluminum protection) |
Solar Reflectivity | 30%-40% | 70%-80% |
Roof Surface Temperature | Summer >70°C | Summer ≈50°C |
Substrate Hardness (HV) | 80-150 | 120-180 |
Design Life | 15-20 years (standard environment) | 25-30 years+ (under similar conditions) |
Wind Uplift Resistance | Moderate (needs additional fasteners) | Stronger (20% higher hardness) |
PPGL steel coil is recommended as the raw material for roof panels in highly corrosive environments, high-temperature areas with strong sunlight, and long-term projects.
