What is S350GD+Z275?
S350GD+Z275 is a common steel grade that refers to a hot-dip galvanized structural steel with a minimum yield strength of 350 MPa and a zinc coating of 275 grams per square meter. S350GD
- S stands for Structural Steel. 350 indicates the minimum yield of the steel.

Substrate preparation
- Raw material: Cold rolled steel coils (SPHC, S350GD substrate)
- Cleaning: Alkaline degreasing (60-80°C, pH 10-12) → Hydrochloric acid pickling (concentration 15-20%) → Washing → Drying.
Hot dip galvanizing (key steps)
- Annealing: to eliminate cold rolling stress and improve formability
- Zinc pot galvanizing: zinc layer weight control (Z275=275g/m²±10%)
- Air knife adjustment: to ensure uniform plating without zinc tumors and leakage
- Cooling: to avoid excessive zinc bloom, which will affect the adhesion of subsequent coatings
Post-processing & Inspection
- Passivation: chromate treatment (or environmental protection chrome-free passivation).
- Oiling: anti-rust oil (light or heavy, according to customer’s requirement).
- Inspection: Plating weight. Mechanical properties.
