Based on different surface finishes and material grades, it can meet the diverse needs of users in various fields regarding corrosion resistance, heat resistance, formability, and aesthetic appearance.

Classification by Surface Finish Series

The surface treatment determines the appearance, glossiness, and stain resistance of the stainless steel.

No.1/2D Stainless Steel Strip (Hot Rolled/Cold Rolled Dull Finish)

  • No.1 features a hot-rolled surface, which is rough with visible rolling textures and high strength. 2D is a cold-rolled and annealed surface, slightly dull, non-reflective, and cost-effective.
  • Surface Characteristics: No.1 is rough with texture; 2D is smooth but matte. Both are wear-resistant and impact-resistant.
  • Processing Characteristics: Suitable for heavy-load, wear-resistant applications.

2B Stainless Steel Strip (Matte Finish)

  • Produced by slitting stainless steel coils that have undergone cold rolling, annealing, pickling, and skin pass rolling. The surface is uniformly matte, smooth, and flat. This is the most common type of stainless steel strip surface.
  • Surface Precision: Ra ≤ 0.4μm, smooth with no scratches, oxidation, or inclusions.
  • Features: Uniform and smooth surface, medium gloss, less prone to fingerprints, and the most widely used surface.

BA Stainless Steel Strip (Bright Annealed Finish)

  • The surface is bright annealed, resulting in a mirror-like, highly reflective finish.
  • Surface Precision: Ra ≤ 0.1μm, uniform mirror effect, no scratches, pits, or color difference.
  • Features: Good ductility, excellent gloss, fine surface texture, more decorative than 2B.

No.4 / HL Stainless Steel Strip (Brushed / Hairline Finish)

  • Produced by mechanical grinding and polishing to create continuous linear textures, presenting uniform straight lines. HL (Hairline) features long, continuous lines, while No.4 has a coarser ground pattern.
  • Brushed Types: Straight grain, non-directional grain. Texture coarseness can be customized (#400-#1200).
  • Features: Unique metallic textured pattern, scratch-resistant, effectively conceals minor scratches, wear-resistant.

8K Stainless Steel Strip (Mirror Finish)

  • Undergoes fine grinding and polishing to achieve a mirror-like surface with extremely high reflectivity.
  • Surface Precision: Ra ≤ 0.05μm, reflectivity typically above 90%, surface free from any micro-scratches or pinholes.
  • Features: Extremely bright, strong visual impact, clear and undistorted reflected images.

Patterned / Embossed Stainless Steel Strip

  • Specific textures are pressed onto the surface using embossing rollers, such as diamond patterns, checkered/weave patterns, water droplet/pearl patterns, orange peel patterns, wood grain, stone/leather grain, etc.
  • Processing Technology: Single-side embossing, double-side embossing, embossing + coloring.
  • Features: Enhances three-dimensional effect, anti-slip, combines aesthetics with functionality.

Classification by Material Grade Series

The material grade determines the corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, and temperature resistance of the stainless steel.

Austenitic Stainless Steel Strip (300 Series)

  • Main Grades: 304 (General-purpose, good corrosion resistance, most widely used), 316 (Contains molybdenum, better resistance to chloride ion corrosion, suitable for marine environments), 301 (Can achieve high strength through cold working, suitable for springs and shrapnel).
  • Features: Non-magnetic, significant work hardening, excellent overall performance.

Ferritic Stainless Steel Strip (400 Series)

  • Main Grades: 430 (Most common, good heat resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient), 410 (Martensitic series, can be strengthened by heat treatment).
  • Features: Magnetic, low thermal expansion coefficient, strong oxidation resistance, relatively stable price.

Martensitic Stainless Steel Strip

  • Main Grades: 420J2, 420J1.
  • Features: Mechanical properties can be adjusted via heat treatment, high hardness, wear-resistant.
