- Annealing: Heating to approx. 800°C in a reducing atmosphere (H₂+N₂) to remove cold rolling stresses.

- Cooling: water quenching or air cooling to form a uniform coating.
Post-treatment
- Surface passivation: chromate or environmentally friendly chrome-free passivation solution treatment.
