DX51D belongs to the European standard EN 10346, D stands for cold rolled, C for commercial grade, 51 is the yield strength grade and D may stand for deep-drawn grade. +AZ stands for Aluminized Zinc Alloy Coating. Aluminum-zinc Coated Steel Production Process
DX51D+AZ Aluminum-zinc coated steel is usually produced by hot-dip plating process, using DX51D grade cold rolled steel as the substrate for the continuous hot-dip plating process, the thickness of zinc-aluminum alloy layer is formed on the surface of the steel in the range of AZ20-350g/m2 (the thickness of the alloy layer can be adjusted). (The thickness of the alloy layer can be adjusted).
- Pre-treatment of steel strip: Cold rolled steel of grade DX51D is selected as the substrate and oxides and impurities on the steel surface are removed.
- Hot Dip Plating: The strip is immersed in an Al-Zn bath (55% Al, 43.4% Zn, 1.6% Si) to form a uniform Al-Zn coating.
- Cooling and cutting: The coated strip is cooled and cut to the required specification.
